Sorry coolman: I meant the pilot knows English, but the pilot is just being lazy and it seems like the pilot is just rude not to make more effort. ATC fine. I work with Chinese people and a lot of them are very sloppy not enough effort. Not that it matters where they come from, if you are going to do something do it the best you can.

he shouldnt have to. the pilot should’ve studied english a bit more.

Being able to speak english is required to fly. And I dont know how the hell people get away with this kind of shit.

This happens all the time, everywhere. People learn just enough english to get by. But they hang onto all kinda of foreign accents, and that distorts english terribly. Being proficient at a language means being able to speak it without problems. Morons like this idiot are accidents waiting to happen!

This kind of stuff drives me crazy.

    what’s your problem?
hyuugauchihahald said “affirm and negative, not affirmate” so i just pointed out that affirmative IS a valid term. go make your snide remarks elsewhere.

That pilot knows English alright but he is just plain lazy and rude not to sort his pronunciation and make some effort - doesn’t matter where he comes from.

The pilot makes all kinds of mistakes…Perhaps he has been without sleep for far too long?

  11. Anonymous on November 21st, 2008 1:37 am

    That is a risky pilot.

  12. Anonymous on November 21st, 2008 1:37 am

I mean no comfortable with this pilot in command of my plane.

  13. Anonymous on November 21st, 2008 1:37 am

How many times does this controller have to repeat himself? I would not be very comfortable with this guy in control of my plane.

    affirm is just affirmative shortened.

  15. Anonymous on November 21st, 2008 1:37 am

    affirm and negative, not affirmative

English is the language of Pilots and ATC, if you’re not able to speak it in an adequate matter, you should not be allowed to fly, neither be taxiing.

This is not funny, it’s sad! Pilot who flies around the world, speaks english so poor, and doesn’t understand controller even when controller speaks slowly! Terrible!

I’m a doorman at at a high end hotel and most, not all,but most are very uptight and I have to deal with that all day long, but after hearing this video post and reading your comments,I feel a little better.Have a great holiday season.Peace.

I’m trying, people are way to critical of ATC when they either don’t want to or just cant understand that controllers have to put up with this stuff all day long.

  22. Anonymous on November 21st, 2008 1:37 am

Well put.Your comment should be posted to all of these vids.

After dealing with this after a long shift you would get this way too. It is not about being nice it is about putting the airplane where it needs to go as quickly as possible without incident.

A bit less temper and a bit more professionalism and/or social intelligence on part of the JFK ATCs would also help:)
The pilot’s English sucks but that ATC guy is only making the situation worse.

It doesn’t matter, in this country they have to be able to understand. If they cannot understand the language of flight in this country they should not be allowed to fly here, its as simple as that.
